So, where to begin?

After almost 2 years of being a stay at home mum I decided that it was time to jump back into the world of work but I had no idea where to begin…

So in 2012 I decided to take the leap of faith and go back to college to learn something new and to find something I was truly passionate about. Flicking through the pages of a prospectus I came across the beauty and hairdressing section and thought to myself, “Yeah, I would be good at that!” and the more I thought about it the more excited I became at the idea of being a fully qualified beauty therapist.

I applied to enrol on a taster course for both hair and beauty to be certain it was something I would be really good at and more importantly, enjoy! After the three month course I was hooked and had met some fantastic people along the way, so I applied for the NC Beauty course which I was accepted onto. I then went on to HNC & HND level, learning new and more difficult aspects of the industry. With a lot of hard work and determination I have now completed the three years required to become fully qualified and I will be graduating in November of this year (2016)!!

The first job I had applied for was at a 5* hotel spa, which I was under-qualified for at the time, but with a lot of prep work for the interview and a high standard of treatments I managed to bag myself the job! However, I only lasted six weeks there as there were too many written papers and treatment procedures to learn while I was still at college, trying to keep up with the work, and home life! The experience I gained from working there was amazing though, and I have taken the high standards with me and continue to keep these standards in my every day work.

I have always had a passion for make-up and love to experiment with different looks and brands (I could spend all day in make-up stores). In the near future there will no doubt be a blog post on make-up; whether it be a review, a creative look or a look into upcoming trends for the season. I love watching various make-up Vloggers on Youtube getting inspiration and ideas for myself to re-create!

Another big passion of mine is nails! There are so many different and cool things to do on nails today and there is something new to try all the time. From nail decals, to the super trend at the moment; chrome nails, there is no way you can get bored!

So, this was a little post for you all to get to know me a little better and hopefully I didn’t send you all off to sleep!

As this is my FIRST EVER blog post I would love to hear your thoughts on it!
